New PhD opportunities

MRC-FUNDED PHD OPPORTUNITIES IN HEALTH ECONOMICS

PhD scholarships are available for 3.5 years (PhD) or 1+3 (Masters and PhD) to cover UK Home/EU fees and a stipend to undertake a PhD in Health Economics in one of the following areas:

  1. The use of big observational data for improving the external validity of randomised clinical trials to inform decision making.
  2. Using routinely collected data to improve extrapolation of costs and health outcomes beyond the trial follow up
  3. Exploiting developments in causal modelling, and large/linked data to improve economic analyses of new health policies
  4. Economic evaluation of school based complex intervention to address bullying & aggression

You will be part of the Team for Health Economics and Technology Assessment (THETA) at the LSHTM, and benefit from a wide range of expertise in assessing and developing methods for cost-effectiveness analysis and decision making. You will have the opportunity to attend health economics and statistical modules of the LSHTM Master’s programmes to strengthen quantitative skills. You will join an innovative research team in Health Economics within a high quality research environment.
